Little toy camera with a HUGE zoom!
This past week I really wanted to play with the Canon Powershot SX500IS but I just had no time. I love my SLR camera just as much as anyone else (if not more:) but there comes a time when you cant take your big camera with you and a small go everywhere camera will do the job.
The reason I’m calling this a toy camera is that when you look at it (especially if you’ve got larger hands) it looks like a kids toy. But when you hold it in your hands you feel a very solidly built camera. The great thing about it is the 30x optical zoom with a manual function allowing you to change the shutter speed, aperture and iso etc. Making this camera a good choice for either people who want a small go-everywhere-camera when they leave the larger SLR camera at home or the amateur photographer who only wants a small camera packing a huge punch and they dont really have the need for anything better.
I did not have enough time today to really test out everything so I’ll shoot a review video on the camera next week looking at the specifications, image quality and video recording quality.
For the time being I took the limited time I had and took a quick picture with the macro mode. I grabbed a little flower from the garden and taped it to a brick:)
Then I put a golden reflector behind it for a cleaner background and some warmer tones. On the camera settings I also chose Vivid colour to increase the saturation of the image and viola I got the following.
As soon as the video is ready I’ll upload it to the You Tube channel.
Enjoy the weekend and happy snapping!
